If you’re pressed for time and travel is just not an option at the moment, there’s a great online course brought to you by the Tergar Learning Community. I’ve gotten to know this inspiring community here in Madison, and am happy to have recently found out that they also have one in Paris, where I’ll be moving this spring. The Joy of Living Program is a path of meditation practice taught by Tibetan Buddhist master, Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche. His first book, The Joy of Living: Unlocking the Secret and Science of Happiness, is a New York Times bestseller, but what he is really known for is his accessible, playful, and – yes! – joyful approach to sharing thoughts and ideas about wisdom, compassion, and awareness.
This Level I training, Calming the Mind, is open to one and all. In this six week course you will learn how to start a daily meditation practice, transform physical pain and difficult emotions, and how to deal with obstacles and distractions. The course includes weekly video teachings by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, course discussion forums, a printable course guide, and live webinar events with senior Tergar instructor, Edwin Kelley.
Start date is February 3, 2016, and the course fee is: $99 ($75 for students).
