Wellness Digest #43: Screen Breaks, Easy Meal Prep, Next-Level Lingerie

Wellness Digest – February 4, 2021

Welcome to this week’s digest. Over the past year, I’ve been trying to send more cards to people. I love finding cool designs but my favorites are the ones that nail it when it comes to the message. The card above says it all, “Less Stress, More Yes.” This is my mantra for 2021. Here’s this week’s list:

We’ve been hearing a lot about the potential side-effects to the second Covid shot. Before we get fearful, let’s understand the facts. Here’s a helpful read from The Atlantic.

Also helpful is this download on how the Johnson & Johnson “one-and-done” vaccine is shaping up.

We’re all experiencing screen fatigue, but stepping away from our devices can be hard. Here are 12 small ways to take a step back and resist the siren call of multiple devices.

Here’s a strategy for meal prep that is super helpful: cook 4-5 things on a Sunday and build your weekday meals from there. This example features a sheet pan for chicken thighs, one for roasted vegetables, making a simple grain, then some lentils. Take this idea or build your own!

And this Korean soy-sauce marinade from Eunjo Park is a great way to help spice up the week.

These lingerie companies created by women for women are all about looking good and feeling good. There’s a lot of beautiful things to choose from here but the brand Negative Underwear is one that topped my list. Minimal and gorgeous.

We’ve all heard about Body Positivity, but what about Body Neutrality? Basically, it means accepting your body as it is. Right now. And listening to your body and letting it guide you. Find out more here.

Read: I’m finally reading The Splendid and The Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz, by Erik Larson. It’s a great read. Larson delivers deeply researched historical details with character deep-dives that are fascinating and at times hilarious.

Design: Here are some of my favorite greeting card/stationery companies if you’re looking to send a Valentine card to a loved one, yourself, or to just say hello! Lagom is a UK-based company and maker of the featured card in the photo above. Rifle Paper Co. is also wonderful, and Elum Designs does beautiful letterpress.

Thanks so much for reading!
